EDIT 11/30/2012: AAAAAaaaand as of Season 10, Tony and Ziva HAVE been locked in an elevator together and touching scenes DO happen. -THIS- doesn't happen, but it drastically improved their relationship, and as noted in the comments, they do try to get to safety via the escape door thing along the top. Pity there's walls and concrete weighing it shut. "Pity." :grin:

I remember the ending scene of the last episode for season 9, when the SUV near the headquarters exploded, which caused the whole place to shake and its workers to feel the effects. It was also when Jimmy was getting married, and Ducky wanted to come, so neither of them were there at the time of the explosion.
Funny...I recently saw another episode related to this where Ziva and McGee were trapped in the elevator and DiNozzo was talking to them through an orange cone.
